ITALIAN PAPERBACK A5 EDITION
of the book by Marco Morganti

A M E R I C A D E S E R T A /The Desert Plays Itself

Universitá IUAV di Venezia, Venezia 2009, 750 pp. colore, brossura.

The book by Marco Morganti:

THE DESERT PLAYS ITSELF
Nowhere now-here!
A Viewpoint on the American Land West

! E n g l i s h _ H a r d c o v e r _ L a n d s c a p e _ E d i t i o n

From the foreword to the book by Prof. Arch. Maurizio Schembri
(IUAV - Department of Urbanistica)

Arch. Marco Morganti compiled this original book for the courses of Urbanistica: ClasARCH Laboratorio Integrato Costruzione and CLAPE Laboratorio Integrato Costruzione e Gestione Opere dell'Architettura. The Desert Plays Itself is the direct result of the materials collected during his traveling to the United States. The research, with its charming graphic layout, reveals some features of the American territory that sometimes tend to be not considered even by the most careful observer.
Marco has found a brand new way to read the different aspects of those lands by the means of a connecting and unifying leitmotiv.

dear internet-travelers,

here you find a selection from the Greater MotorWest archive. It's a preview: it is low resolution. This would be our special tribute to the great Nations of North America, to its people and beautiful landscape.

Offbeat diversions, detours and roadside xtra-vaganza...

Cum'n folks, lets MotorWest... where all is wide and open.

The focus is on NATURal and ARTificial enviroments: architecture, water, sculpture, natural parks, towns, skylines, primitive art, oceans, sunsets, towers, colors, pacific views, wildlife, deserts, mountains, lakes, ghost-towns, old routes, painted rocks, blue sky, trees, plants, crazy buildings, night-lights, beaches, steel frames, missions, skyscrapers, canyon lands, sand, cliffs, narrows, rock and land art, cacti, mesas, Far West, pueblos, rivers, ancient dwellings, native culture, rock formations, islands, ethnic districts, murals, old towns and plazas, geysers, hot springs, basin and range, salt flats, playas, junkyards, mines, patterns and textures, trains, cowboys, sacred places, big blue skies, falls, terraces, caves, lights and neon, stars and stripes, old mobiles, gas and oil, sand mountains, devil dusts, gates and bridges, aircrafts... from dusk to dawn... thru our eyes.

America: here you go.

PS - If you are planning to Motor West and looking for some more info about our trips to North America, feel free to contact us at itnagrom@tin.it.
